Enjoy a Thick Lawn With Over-Seeding

Over-seeding is one of the most important lawn care tasks although it is often overlooked. Even thick lawns benefit from the introduction of new grass plants. This is because as grass plants get older, their reproduction rates slow, leaving thin areas that are susceptible to weed invasion.

There are two distinct benefits of regular over-seeding your lawn. First, it ensures the lawn stays thick and dense preventing the invasion of weeds. A second benefit is the introduction of new varieties of grass that have better resistance to disease and environmental stress than the varieties already found in your lawn.

The best time of year to over-seed in the Miami Valley is late August through the middle of September. It is most beneficial to combine this practice with aeration, allowing the better seed soil contact and increased germination rates.

Rejuvenate Your Lawn With Slice-Seeding

Slice-seeding is the mechanical process of cutting slits through the thatch into the soil. Grass seed is dropped into the slits guaranteeing seed soil contact so the seedlings can germinate. This procedure is an excellent method of renovating lawns that are thin from stress or neglect. Some older lawns also benefit from mechanical slice seeding to introduce improved seed varieties.

New seed varieties are developed every year and in their introduction to your lawn increases lawn density, provides more disease resistance, and can decrease the amount of water necessary to keep your lawn green.

"This is the place to go if you want affordable “HIGHEST QUALITY” lawn care. When I first moved to Dayton, I hired Joe and LOVED how green my grass was, then my wife switched because of the neighborhood chatter about another local “organic” lawn company. Needless to say, I’m back with this company and so glad because Joe does an excellent job. My yard looks great, in fact my neighbors compliment me all the time how great it looks. I sell this company to everyone I talk to. Go with Joe. My yard is thicker, greener and downright beautiful. Thank you Joe and team!"
